SMC Designs Surpass Client Expectations

It’s highly unlikely that you could walk into a room and pinpoint Shelly Cipriani’s design work. This is not because it doesn't stand out, but because every project she works on is a true reflection of her client. Even when a client presents her with a photo or idea they’d like to replicate, Shelly manages to put a unique spin on it and produce an end result that’s even better than what the client imagined.

Taking inspiration from history and nature, Shelly loves to renovate older homes and incorporate art and antiques whenever possible. Her commercial art background with a focus in color set her up for success in the world of interior design, where she's been leading her own firm, SMC Designs, for almost 18 years. Along with her Design Assistant and Administrative Assistant, SMC is a full-service firm working on projects all across the United States. Shelly makes sure to get involved in the process as early as possible, even collaborating with architects on blue prints.

When asked about her partnership with Edelman for luxury plumbing products, Shelly told us how much she loves collaborating with her Sales Consultant in our Westlake showroom. “I’ve been working with Pat for years and sometimes we don’t even have to talk because we just know one another so well,” Shelly said. “She’s understanding and dependable, and my clients love making selections for their homes with her”.

Shelly has a natural ability to work with contemporary, transitional or traditional styles and make sure that the outcome reflects the person who lives there. She’s an expert with color and a wiz at finding interesting ways to coordinate pieces, like blending antiques into a contemporary design to give it a softer look. She takes extra time to bond with her clients and find out how they live, what their family is like and what their daily routines are so that she can naturally incorporate personal characteristics into the design. Whether she is designing an entire home or remodeling a small powder room, Shelly Cipriani produces eye-catching design that offers a comfortable "at home" feeling.
